Hello! Welcome to my South America travel blog. Here you will find stories, reflections, reviews and advice from my various encounters and experiences while on the other side of the equator. This started out as a way to document and share bits of my solo backpacking trip through Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, but has since evolved into a space for reflecting on and revealing aspects of everyday life in Ecuador. I now live in Quito, its capital, where I am a Staff Writer and Editor for V!VA Travel Guides.
About Me:
I’m a 24-year-old female travel writer based in Quito, Ecuador. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Shortly after graduation, I booked a flight down to Argentina with the intention of traveling solo through South America. From the beaches of Uruguay to the bumping nightlife of Buenos Aires to the breathtaking heights of Machu Picchu, I quickly fell in love this diverse, adventurous and beautiful continent. Eventually, I landed a job with V!VA Travel Guides and have since set up camp in Quito, where I currently live and work. Born and raised in New Jersey, I have traversed over 20 countries, mostly in Europe and Latin America.

Hey! just stumbled upon your blog. I studied in Quito for five months back in 2007 and absolutely loved it. I’d love to get in touch with you and talk about your travels! I am off to Spain in a few days and will be staying there for 8 months! Shoot me an email if you get a chance!

Hi there — my name is Bronwyn; I am a 22-year-old student living in Quito. I found your blog randomly, and I love how descriptive it is. You have definitely given me some ideas of things I would like to do, and it’s been fun to read your perspective on things that I have already experienced. I have been living in Quito since August and will be here until May, when I will embark on a South American backpacking trip. I love that you were so adventurous as to book your flight to South America alone! I’d love to hear more about your experiences and maybe even meet up while we’re both in Quito!
