Mercado Iñaquito is located in the North of Quito, near the Trole Stop “La Y.” It is an excellent peek into everyday city life in Quito, and a cheap place to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies, herbs and spices, meat and fish. Even if you have already done your weekly grocery shopping elsewhere, Iñaquito is also a fun place to sample traditional food, such as hornado (roasted pig) with llapingachos (fried potato pancakes with cheese) and avocado, or several different fish soups. However, eat as your own risk; market atmospheres aren’t exactly known for their cleanliness.
